“Feeding Families….Giving Hope”
Here are some highlights from our Food Drive
Thanks to our Volunteers, Goya Foods and Donations, Salud in conjunction with Manhattan Borough President’s Office Gale A Brewer were able to provide families in Harlem with Pre-Thanksgiving products for a home cook meal.
WHAT: In partnership with Manhattan Borough President’s Office Gale A. Brewer and Goya Foods, SALUD, a health and wellness company, were able to donate healthy Thanksgiving meals to families in the Harlem, NYCHA Housing and nearby shelters at the 2nd Annual Healthy Kitchen Food Drive last Friday, November 18th.
Everyone was welcomed by Sarah Perez Jarrett, CEO of Salud who shared the importance of good nutrition and the key supplements that help with arthritis, high blood pressure and other ailments. Food blogger Liz Carrion from Mi Cocina Latina provided a cooking demo on how to prepare healthy meals for the whole family using tips of Goya products , her quick recipes and Goya’s MyPlate Healthy Celebrations cookbook.
Finally, Manhattan Borough President, Gale A Brewer and her staff, welcomed all who came and shared the importance of healthy eating and implementing healthy lifestyle including the different programs they offer to assist families.
